How we rank Antalya's dentists
A ranking is only worth as much as the method behind it. Here is exactly how we score each dentist — and why a specialist prosthodontist sits at the very top.
This is an editorial ranking of individual dentists, not clinics or advertising packages. Our aim is to answer the only question that really matters when you fly abroad for treatment: whose hands do you want doing the work? To do that fairly, we score every dentist on five weighted criteria and publish the weightings openly so you can judge them for yourself.
The five scoring criteria
Qualifications & register status
25%Specialist register status (prosthodontics, periodontology, oral surgery) scores highest; recognised post-graduate training and fellowships count strongly.
Clinical experience & case volume
20%Years in practice and, crucially, how regularly the dentist performs the specific treatment in question — a full-arch surgeon who places implants weekly outranks an occasional one.
Guarantee & accreditation
20%The length and substance of the written guarantee, plus clinic-level accreditation (JCI, ISO) and hygiene standards. A real lifetime implant guarantee is a strong signal.
Verified patient outcomes
20%Volume and consistency of verified UK and international reviews, before-and-after evidence, and complication/redo rates where available.
UK-patient support & communication
15%English-language coordination, written treatment plans before travel, transparent pricing, aftercare and responsiveness for patients flying in from the UK.
How scores are combined
Each dentist receives a mark out of 10 on every criterion. We multiply each mark by its weighting and sum the result to produce the overall score you see beside their name. A dentist who is brilliant in a narrow field but offers no meaningful guarantee, or no English-language support, will score below an all-round specialist — because for a UK patient travelling home after surgery, those practical protections are not optional extras.
We deliberately weight qualifications and register status and guarantee and accreditation heavily. The single biggest risk in dental tourism is not price — it is having complex, irreversible work done by someone without the specialist training to do it well, with no recourse if something goes wrong.
